The Challenge of the Great Wars

Explore the Plains of Abraham with a military backpack following the steps of soldier, poet and chaplain Frederick George Scott.

In under 105 minutes, solve mysteries, unlock the contents of the backpack and face challenges while discovering how two world wars marked the history of the park.

From May 10 to September 22, 2024

  • Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes (timed activity)
  • $47 per group (ideal for a group of 3 to 4 people, maximum 6 people)
  • Ideal for participants aged 13 and older
  • Outdoor activity, departure from the Plains of Abraham Museum
  • Material provided: backpack, military equipment (rope, bottle, medals, etc.), booklet with clues and various items for the riddles

The Forgotten Ones

 

This activity requires a good physical condition*.

What happened to the witnesses to the siege of Québec in 1759-1760 that we seem to have lost track of? Their past is under lock and key in a wheelbarrow.

Roam the battlefield and within 105 minutes, collect pieces of the puzzle and learn about the history of the forgotten ones.

* Carrying an antique wheelbarrow and its content, on the rugged terrain of the plains of Abraham, requires a constant and sustained effort. A good physical condition is necessary to do the activity.

Important informations

  • Pick up the material for your activity 15 minutes before start time, at the Plains of Abraham Museum (835 Wilfrid-Laurier Avenue), with proof of purchase;
  • A $100 credit card preauthorization will be required in order to leave with the bag;
  • Fees will be deducted from the pre-authorized amount if items from the bag are not returned and if the bag is returned late. Penalty fee for late returning of the bag: $5 per 15 minutes;
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather and walking shoes are recommended;
  • The activity is non-refundable unless cancelled by the National Battlefields Commission;
  • The Battlefields Park is formed by uneven terrain whose natural topography has been preserved. Park users must show diligence and caution and inspect the area before holding their activities. The National Battlefields Commission cannot be held responsible for any injury or other damage arising from the use of the territory.
